Agnes RF delivers monopolar radio frequency energy via semi-insulated microneedles specifically shaped to target dermis and superficial fat layers without injury to the epidermis. Heat coagulates underlying tissues to kick your body’s healing processes into gear. This means unwanted fat can be gently reduced to contour the lower eyelid area, jowls and under chin area. Collagen production increases to promote cellular turnover and strengthen your skin’s underlying support network. The thermal energy also causes the skin to tighten for a smoother surface. In correcting acne, the heat destroys targeted sebaceous glands and reduces oil production.

On the day of your treatment, Dr. Kuntz will mark the treatment areas and numb with lidocaine infiltration. There is minimal to no discomfort during the treatment. During treatment, Dr. Kuntz inserts the appropriate ultra-fine needle into the problem area and delivers the correct RF pulses at the proper depth to melt fat cells, tighten lax tissue and lay down RF energy at the dermis to set the reparative processes in motion. Platelet rich plasma or healing EXO/E serum application to the treated areas immediately after can promote even faster recovery and enhanced final results.

Depending on the areas treated, typically treatment will last 30 to 90 minutes.

The smaller the treatment area, the shorter the recovery time. There may be only mild redness that subsides within a 1-3 days depending on the area treated. Swelling and minimal bruising is normal for a few days up to a week. If more intensive treatment is performed for sculpting of larger areas such as the jowls and jawline, there can be moderate swelling that resolves over 1-2 weeks or longer.

There is mild to no discomfort after the treatment, but it is normal to experience altered sensation (numbness or slightly prickly sensation) of your treated skin. This sensation will resolve over several days to weeks. You will be able to resume regular activities that day. We recommend gentle handling of treated area for 48 hours, and to avoid sun exposure to treated skin for 2 weeks to avoid possibility of hyperpigmentation.

There will be some immediate tightening visible. However, most of the changes due to production of new collagen and elastin and remodeling of this new tissue will take place over 2-3 months after treatment. It also takes several weeks for your body’s clean-up crew to remove disrupted fat cells from the treated area.

Although there may be noticeable improvement with even one treatment, optimal results usually require 2-3 treatments, spaced 2-3 months apart. For Acne treatments, 4-6 sessions are typically recommended, one month apart.

Yes, any type of skin color can be treated. Although Agnes RF treatment is safer in patients of skin color compared to laser devices, any significant heat can result in increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or any adverse events at any time.
